SPECIFICATION
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Low Moisture Apples (also called “dehydrated”) are prepared from sound, properly ripened fruit which has been washed, peeled and cored, sorted, trimmed, cut to the desired size and properly dehydrated to not more than 3.5% moisture by weight. The product is inspected throughout the process to assure a clean, wholesome product that is in complete compliance with the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Invertec Low Moisture Apples are “Circle K”, Kosher Certified.
VARIETY
Granny Smith, Delicious, Fuji and Gala are the primary varieties available.
FLAVOR/ODORS
Typical of variety with no musty, decayed or other off flavors or odors.

PRESERVATIVES
Sulfur Dioxide: Approx. 500‑1500 PPM (Unsulfured and sulfite alternative products are available by special order).
Calcium Stearate: 0.5% maximum may be added to prevent caking.
STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS
Store in a cool (room temperature or less) dry atmosphere.
RECONSTITUTION RATIO
Although the end usage, process and style of cut, will ultimately dictate the correct ratio, Low Moisture Apples generally require six (6) parts water (by weight) to one (1) part apple, to fully reconstitute.
PACKAGING AND SHIPPING CONDITIONS
Low Moisture Apple Products are packed in a sealed 100-micron high-density polyethylene bag inside a corrugated fiberboard carton. The product is transported in 20’, 40’ and 40’ High Cube shipping containers stretch wrapped and palletized or floor loaded.
